I crashed my Brompton bike yesterday. Turning off Lake Shore Boulevard West onto Dwight Avenue the front end washes out on the streetcar tracks and I am dumped into the street at speed. By good fortune the bike is fine and I am OK. My glasses case in my pocket is squashed flat but saves my hip from damage and the Flexon glasses emerge undamaged.
I manage to cycle home somewhat chastened - a hard lesson learned. I scour the Brompton Owner's Manual for advice on riding but can find nothing - a caution to tackle road obstacles at right angles wouldn't go amiss. I am sure I've read something to this effect somewhere but cannot find it.
No real harm done but a warning - I'll try to grow old more gracefully in future.
