Hidden agenda in garbage strike

The real reason behind the Toronto garbage strike can be revealed today. Spotted on Bloor Street yesterday were these two privatised "Miller Waste Systems" garbage trucks. The company is a thinly-disguised front for "large imperfect" Mayor Miller, in his efforts to break the strike and make some money on the side. You can't fool us here at PunchBuggy.

How not to promote a motor race

The above poster is displayed near the track for the upcoming Indycar race in Toronto. Which driver is in the picture I wondered? Turns out it is a model not driving at all. A great way not to promote the personalities driving in the race - an Andretti or Tracy or Danica Patrick even - why do the Indycar folk stumble from one snafu to the next? Not a mistake NASCAR would make. I'll be out of town but I doubt I could be bothered to attend this once-great series.

Morgan instant classic

Carsten Birkebaek sent me this photograph of a Morgan Aeromax 8 taken in the UK. As he says: "See the beautiful picture."

Idling on the Left Coast

The Lawrence Route 66 tour is done and dusted. Here the car chills out with a smart at the Bowers Park picnic dinner in San Jose [a car club gig I think].

Homebuilt Hot Rod and Gemini Giant

More from the Lawrence family as the award-winning '56 Chevrolet rolls into Wilmington, Illinois, home of the Gemini Giant, on the Route 66 tour. Last heard from in El Reno, Oklahoma we wish them well as they head for California and the coast at Santa Monica.

Lawrence in Florence
